We are fully approved to carry out MOT tests in Staffordshire.
Formerly known as the Ministry of Transport test, the MOT is an examination which ensures your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition, meeting road safety and environmental standards.
The first time your car will require a MOT test is when it is three years old. It must then be tested annually after that. Without a current MOT certificate, you will be unable to drive your vehicle lawfully and you will also be unable to renew your road fund licence.
During the test, one of our DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) approved examiners will conduct an inspection using the latest technical equipment. As part of the inspection, your vehicle will undergo a series of comprehensive checks, including the interior, exterior, under the bonnet and under the vehicle. Some of the components covered in the test include:
- Vehicle Identification Number
- Windscreen Washers & Wipers
At the end of the MOT test, your vehicle will either be awarded a VT20 pass certificate or a VT30 failure document (if the vehicle fails to meet the required standard). Some items that may require your attention later down the line are noted as advisories.
Should your vehicle fail, we are able to carry out the relevant repairs, if you want us to. Alternatively, we can re-test your vehicle within 10 working days, should you wish to carry out the relevant repairs elsewhere. Please note that further charges may apply.
